At Leasehold Debt Recovery, we are proud to offer a wide range of services to supplement our debt recovery offering, with one of these services being the collection of ground rent on behalf of freeholders and landlords. This service includes preparing the relevant notices and issuing them to leaseholders in accordance with legislation, before collecting payment into our client bank account. If any leaseholder should not make payment by the due date, we will then implement our debt recovery procedures which are specifically designed to protect a client’s right to forfeit the lease for non-payment should this ultimately be necessary.
It is typical of firms who offer a similar service to charge commission as a percentage of the ground rent collected, however at Leasehold Debt Recovery we do not do this and instead we will collect ground rent entirely free of charge. Our remuneration will come from cases where a leaseholder does not pay their ground rent on time, in which case this then becomes subject to our debt recovery procedures where we will charge our standard debt recovery fees in addition to the ground rent arrears and seek to recover the full amount from the leaseholder. If for any reason we are only able to recover the ground rent however (for instance, if the lease does not provide for the recovery of our fees), then we will not look to pass our fees on to our client and will instead absorb these ourselves. Essentially therefore, we will not charge any fees to our clients regardless of the stage at which we collect ground rent from any leaseholder!
